Forza Horizon 2, the sequel to Forza Horizon,
is the newest Forza game developed by studio Playground Games for Xbox
One. Sumo Digital handled the Xbox 360 iteration. Horizon 2, on Xbox
One, is built on the framework of Forza Motorsport 5, featuring Drivatar technology.
Forza Horizon 2 runs at 1080p resolution with a locked 30 frames-per-second. The 360 counterpart uses an updated engine from Forza 4, just like Forza Horizon.
Players race through various locales surrounding the Horizon
Festival, in Southern Europe. The open world cycles through day and
night, and race environments are time and condition customizable. There
is also dynamic weather system for the first time in a Forza game.
Multiplayer and Split Screen
Forza Horizon 2 features up to twelve-player simultaneous online
multiplayer modes. However, it doesn't include support for split-screen
racing.
Painting
Forza Horizon 2 uses the same livery editor as Forza Motorsport 5, allowing a high degree of cosmetic customization.
Microtransactions
While a microtransaction token system for new Vehicles
will eventually be available, it will not be active during Forza
Horizon 2's launch. Instead, developers intend to take time to tune the
in-game economy. In the meantime, some desirable cars will be available
through leveling up via The Horizon Wheel Spin, a randomized minigame. [1]
Car Meets
Forzavista, where cars can be viewed and customized, has been
replaced with Car Meets. Car Meets are mode in Horizon 2 where players
can meet up online and compare their rides, as well as share liveries.
Soundtrack
The soundtrack
for Forza Horizon 2 is also getting a make-over. BBC radio DJ Rob da
Bank is back again to help curate the soundtrack, where he creating the
song list for the three major radio stations.
